(Late) January Wrap Up and a Life Update

Hi, all! It feels like it's been a lifetime since I talked to you last everything has been happening so fast this last month. Hope you've all been doing well and the year has been good to you thus far.

Just a quick update before we get on with what I've been up to reading wise: These next few months are going to be insane for me. I'm taking an APUSH midterm next week, a mock AP Lang exam next weekend, and I'm working a show at the end of the month. Then after that it's the SAT and AP national exam prep, and then we start getting ready for the spring musical. Lots of very exciting but stressful things are happening for me.

So please be patient with me as I maneuver through the end of the semester. I'm not taking a hiatus because I honestly believe I'd be more stressed if I stopped blogging, but my posting might end up being a lot all at once and then nothing for a bit because I'm terrible at scheduling. I hate not having time to blog, but I have to prioritize school right now.

Now that all that heavy stuff is out of the way, let's talk about January!

Life happenings:

My absolute favorite thing about January was Spring Awakening. I listened to the original Broadway soundtrack a few months ago because Deanna @ Reading in the Rain loves it, and I totally trust her musical theatre opinion. I fell in love with it, and this month I got the chance to see two amazing performances of it at a local theatre. One of my classmates was Wendla, and the whole cast was incredible.

Bookish happenings:

Read this month:

Guys Do Not Do Secret Santa (Hundred Oaks .5) (short story) - Miranda Kenneally  - 4 stars

Faking It (Losing It #2) - Cora Carmack - 4 stars

Symptoms of Being Human - Jeff Garvin - 5 stars (My review)

A Raisin in the Sun - Lorraine Hansberry - 3.5 stars

Paige in Progress - Brighton Walsh - 4 stars

The Serpent King - Jeff Zentner - 5 stars (My review)

The Score - Elle Kennedy - 5 stars

Crossing the Line (Pushing the Limits #1.1) - Katie McGarry - 4 stars

Pushing the Limits - Katie McGarry - 5 stars

I was very fortunate book wise in January. I didn't read a single book I didn't like. What have you been reading? Let me know!
