Soundtrack Saturday is a feature created and hosted by Erin @ The Hardcover Lover! It's a place for bloggers to share playlists based on books they've read. To find out more, check out the meme's homepage

For this week, I picked The Fill-In Boyfriend, which I recently read and absolutely adored, like every other Kasie West book I've ever read. It oozes with adorableness, and I want to reread it for the rest of my life.

About the book:

When Gia Montgomery's boyfriend, Bradley, dumps her in the parking lot of her high school prom, she has to think fast. After all, she'd been telling her friends about him for months now. This was supposed to be the night she proved he existed. So when she sees a cute guy waiting to pick up his sister, she enlists his help. The task is simple: be her fill-in boyfriend—two hours, zero commitment, a few white lies. After that, she can win back the real Bradley.

The problem is that days after prom, it's not the real Bradley she's thinking about, but the stand-in. The one whose name she doesn't even know. But tracking him down doesn't mean they're done faking a relationship. Gia owes him a favor and his sister intends to see that he collects: his ex-girlfriend's graduation party—three hours, zero commitment, a few white lies.

Just when Gia begins to wonder if she could turn her fake boyfriend into a real one, Bradley comes waltzing back into her life, exposing her lie, and threatening to destroy her friendships and her new-found relationship.

These are songs (or specific lines from songs in some cases)  I felt fit in with a certain scene, described a character or a relationship between characters, and/or just the general feel of the book.

Girlfriend // Avril Lavigne
"Hey, hey, you, you, I could be your girlfriend"

Ex's and Oh's // Elle King
"These ex's and oh's / they haunt me like ghosts"

Dancing with a Wolf // All Time Low
"Who's gonna be there when you run out of lies?"

The In Crowd // Mitchell Musso
"But I don't think I've ever known a time that I was part of the in crowd."

Ours // Taylor Swift
"The jury's out, but my choice is you."

One Call Away // Charlie Puth
"I'm only one call away. I'll be there to save the day."

  1. I love this playlist! So many good songs that I know and rock out to!

I have to read this book still. I have a copy somewhere, but I just haven't gotten to it (or any other Kasie book!) Oops.

    Thanks for participating!
